As we come across stressful situations in our lives, perhaps before we are ready to deal with them, we can put them aside and move on. But we remain subtly primed for similar situations, and this conditioning builds our stress levels to the point where it can suppress the immune system.

If you have ever scheduled time off work or gone away on holiday, just to come down with a cold or feel too tired to do anything, this is your bodies way of letting you know you have chronic stress. Once you have the opportunity to relax, the immune system picks back up to deal with viruses or starts to detox, where it had been unable to before.

Regular relaxation sessions can support the immune system to function optimally. They can help you to sleep better at night, and we all know how we feel the day after a great night’s sleep. Thinking clearer, more energy, better food choices etc…
