The layers of muscles are warmed through as they are massaged, enabling a much deeper level of relaxation in mind, body and spirit.

Using special iron-rich basalt volcanic stones, which are pre-heated to a safe but effective temperature, hot stone massage therapy works on many levels. During the treatment, you are engulfed in warmth and comfort, allowing the massage to work on a deeper into the muscles. The energies from the stones promote a meditative and calm state, helping to relax to the deepest state possible as you feel the warm nurturing and healing effects long after the treatment is over.

Be truly taken care of and let go of tension and worries, as I work through your upper and lower back, upper glutes, neck and shoulders, legs and arms. Hot stones are not applied to the stomach. The treatment concludes with a gentle face massage and a scalp massage, before you can slowly emerge and return to your day.

This is actually a particularly nice massage to receive in the evening, enabling you to return home completely relaxed and slip into bed. Your skin will be soft and supple, as the warming effect of the hot stones aids the absorption of the massage oil into the body. If you feel like it, you can bring your pyjamas to dress in after your massage, or indeed wear them to your appointment under your coat. Make sure you will be warm enough returning home, by dressing appropriately for the weather.
